Runner+

While browsing the Flickr Nike+ Group last night I came across the Runner+ site. Its currently in beta but when launched will give users access to detailed history of their runs pulled from either the Nike+ website or from their Nano. It also gives access users access to each others run data which I’m guessing will lead to lots of opportunities for challenges, forums, blogs and other ways to interact with other users on the site. Exciting stuff!

Trailrunner

” TrailRunner is a route planning software for all kinds of long distance sports like running, biking, hiking, inline-skating, skiing and more. If you ever asked yourself how long your workout routes are and what route you should choose for this evening — then TrailRunner should be your training-partner. TrailRunner can calculate a route for your desired distance and export directions onto your iPod, giving you a detailed orientation while you are on your way.”

I used to use Gmaps Pedometer to plan my runs until I found Trailrunner for OSX. Its a fantastic tool for the Nike+ Runner which not only lets you plan your route but lets you upload the data from your iPod when you’ve finished giving you detailed info which you can match up against your route and best of all its free. “Why not use the route planner on the Nike+ site?” because I get really frustrated by the small viewing area and the clunky Flash interface.
